Blackwater Deck Works is led by Nolan Ginn, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and working owner who believes the customer should understand what is being built and why.
That means showing up prepared, speaking plainly about tradeoffs and refusing to sell cosmetic work as a structural solution. The company serves homeowners across Galveston County and selected nearby communities from its Bayou Vista / Hitchcock base.
Our work spans new decks and docks, stairs and railings, pergolas, covered patios, fences, and the repair or restoration of existing wood structures. Each property brings different elevations, access, exposure and maintenance needs. We start by understanding those conditions and the way you want to use the space, then define the work in a proposal you can actually evaluate.
On repair projects, we look at the accessible structure before recommending a surface treatment. If damaged framing, connections or stairs need attention, those issues belong in the conversation before cleaning or staining begins. For new work, we discuss layout, materials, approvals and the practical tradeoffs of living near the Gulf Coast.
